Behind Udemy, one of the successful startups in the valley and rapidly rising, there is a Turkish entrepreneur: Eren Bali. So what is the origin story of Udemy, which starts from Turkey and extends to San Francisco? How was Udemy established? Udemy's story began with its founder, Eren Bali, preparing for university exams. Eren Bali was born in Durulova village of Malatya. Bali, who completed his primary school in the village, attended secondary and high school in the center of Malatya. His interest in mathematics in secondary school led him to computer engineering in the following years.

Based on this idea, the two partners started working to establish an online education platform a year later. However, they could not find financial support in Turkey for the project they developed. Thereupon, the two partners decided to try their luck in Silicon Valley. During their search, they received rejections from 50 investors. While investors thought that trainings without certification would not be preferred, Eren Bali did not think so. According to him, people might be reluctant to take the training for which he was certified again.
